YUIL-TECH Co., Ltd. (CEO Tae-Geun Choi) announced that it received the Grand Prize in the Innovative Industrial Equipment Wear-Resistance Specialist category for the second consecutive year at the 2024 Korea Innovative Company (Institution/Individual) and Brand Awards held on May 17.
The awards are hosted by Herald Business and The Korea Herald and organized by monthly Power Korea (publisher Jong-Won Baek). The Herald media group established the awards to identify and promote companies, individuals and brands demonstrating distinctive innovation in Korea and abroad.
At the ceremony held at the Korea Press Center, 41 companies, institutions, individuals and brands received awards. Recipients included JEI University, Bio C&C, the Korean Society for Stem Cell Therapy, Starbucks Korea, GS Retail's GS Shop, Yonggil's Gukbap Restaurant, Funzin, S&Tech, the SME Policy Support Research Center, Haebaragi Fresh Rice, Jumi English Clubhouse Language Academy and Kim Mi-Kyung Flower. Announcer Se-Young Kim hosted the event, with performances by Seung-Jae Lee of Sensation MS, soprano Jeong-A Kim, super-tenor Seung-Ho Yang and singer Si-Won Lee.
YUIL-TECH is also advancing the localization of hardfacing technology. CEO Tae-Geun Choi has worked in hardfacing for 30 years and has combined hardfacing manufacturing with pulverizer overhaul and mechanical equipment construction, a market that was largely undeveloped when the company was founded.
CEO Choi said, ‘To lead the wear-resistance market for mechanical equipment, we must understand each product's wear environment and the structural characteristics of the equipment itself, and apply diversified wear-resistance technologies, including carbide hardfacing and thermal spray coating, to suit each product's form.’
