YUIL TECH Hosts Technical Exchange with Malakoff's Tanjung Bin Delegation

On May 8, YUIL TECH Co., Ltd. hosted a technical exchange session on coal pulverizer wear-resistant parts and maintenance solutions for a delegation from Malakoff's Tanjung Bin Power Plant in Malaysia, held at the Taean Power Division of Korea Western Power (KOWEPO).

Arranged through an introduction by KOWEPO, the session brought together the Tanjung Bin delegation, officials from the Taean Power Division, and YUIL TECH executives and staff, and consisted of a technical presentation followed by a site tour.

■ Presentation — Supply Record with Korea's Five Power Companies and ALSTOM-Type Capabilities

Geon-Woo Choi, Executive Director of YUIL TECH, introduced the company's technical capabilities in a presentation titled "Coal Pulverizer Wear-Resistant Parts & Total Maintenance Solution."

The presentation covered YUIL TECH's record of supplying pulverizer wear-resistant parts to all five of Korea's major power generation companies, along with its execution of three years of full overhauls on the MPS-280BH pulverizers at Taean Units 9 and 10, and 20,000-hour field validation results for its Inner Segment Vane (ISV).

With particular reference to the ALSTOM HP-type pulverizers in operation at Tanjung Bin, the presentation highlighted YUIL TECH's track record of supplying SC450-based hardfacing components to ALSTOM-type equipment in Korea (GS Donghae Power). The company then proposed a three-stage cooperation approach: (1) technical alignment and field measurement, (2) pilot supply and on-site verification, and (3) a multi-year supply agreement and maintenance partnership.

■ Site Tour — Pulverizer Maintenance Work at Taean Thermal Power Plant

Following the presentation, participants toured the pulverizer facilities at the Taean Power Division and observed actual disassembly and reassembly work. Key assembly stages — including the joining of the pressure frame and roll wheel and the installation of air pipes — were explained alongside video footage, and the Tanjung Bin representatives raised questions on component materials, wear management criteria, and maintenance intervals.

■ Building a Foundation for Southeast Asian Expansion

YUIL TECH supplies ISVs to thermal power plants in Indonesia and has secured an Indonesian patent as part of its push into the Southeast Asian thermal power market. This technical exchange with the Tanjung Bin delegation is expected to serve as a stepping stone for extending the company's business into Malaysia.

"This was an opportunity to confirm that the pulverizer maintenance technology and R&D achievements we have built up with Korea's five major power generation companies can be applied directly to the Southeast Asian power market," a YUIL TECH representative said. "We will continue to expand cooperation with Tanjung Bin and other power plants in Malaysia and Indonesia."
